Proposals are accepted from teachers, administrators, parents, or students. Parents and students are required to have a faculty sponsor.
Proposals will be evaluated on the basis of the following criteria:
The project offers an original educational approach that has a direct impact on students.
The educational value of the project is clearly defined.
The project operation is simply and concisely defined.
The budget is complete and realistic.
The project evaluation is practical and will yield useful information.
The Foundation’s Grant Committee will read and review each proposal. The committee reserves the right to request additional information from applicants. Failure to respond in a timely manner will result in withdrawal of the grant for consideration.
If we are able to offer only partial funding for your grant, would you be willing to accept it? If so, please indicate which area of your grant we should consider for partial funding.
Grant award winners will be notified and then presented at a Board of Education meeting (date to be announced). Grant award recipients may be requested to speak about their grant on behalf of the Foundation at future school functions. All grant recipients will need to follow up with the FFE so we can see the grants in action. Follow ups can be in the form of testimonial, pictures and videos.

The Foundation for Excellence in Yorktown Education was established in 1993 to raise funds beyond the scope of school budgets for innovative projects and programs which will further enhance the education of Yorktown students. The Foundation is a tax-exempt, 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization with its own Board of Directors and bylaws.
